What should I do to prepare for a peel?

An initial consultation is required before receiving a peel.  During the consultation, clients will receive some products to use 10-14 days before the next treatment. This ensures that the skin is in good condition and that optimal results are achieved. It is best to avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for about 2 weeks prior to your treatment. Discontinue use of topical retinol products 5 days prior.

What can I expect after my peel?

Skin will be very smooth and dewey the day of your treatment. Skin may begin to feel tight and dry the following day. From days 2-5 you may experience flaking or peeling, with the peeling complete around day 6. During the peeling stages, do not pick off dead skin. A soft, damp washcloth may be used to slough off if necessary, otherwise, leave it be and use appropriate Post-Procedure products.

Will my skin peel very much?

Individual results vary, depending on the starting condition of the skin. For someone with a good skin care regimen of exfoliating, peeling may be minimal. Peeling may be at a cellular level and not seen with the naked eye. This does not mean that results are not being achieved!  PCA Skin products are made to "preserve, promote and protect healthy skin." These are mild to medium depth peels designed to deliver maximum results with minimal down time.

Does getting a peel hurt?

The sensation felt while getting a peel varies from person to person. The feeling is more "prickly" than painful, and the clients' comfort is monitored during the entire process, to ensure the best results.

How long does hair need to be to get sugared?

Hair must be at least 1/8 of an inch to be sugared, with 1/4 of an inch preferable for your first treatment.

How can I prep for sugaring?

Clients can exfoliate their skin the day prior to being sugared (do not do so on the day of!) Keeping skin moisturized and exfoliated ensures that the hair will come out easily and that no dead skin will remain inside the follicles.
